The 25th National Meeting of International Relations & Erasmus Offices of Greek Universities was successfully held in Volos from 19 to 21 June 2025. The event was hosted by the University of Thessaly, with the warm welcome of its Rector, Professor Charalambos Billinis, and brought together representatives from across Greece to exchange best practices and discuss the future of international cooperation in higher education.
As part of this national event, the INVEST European University Alliance was invited to contribute to the panel discussion on European Alliances. Representing INVEST and the University of Thessaly, Professor Nikolaos Samaras, Local Scientific Coordinator of INVEST, participated in a high-level panel alongside:
- Professor Efthalia Chatzigianni, Vice Rector of Administrative Affairs, International Relations & Outreach, University of the Peloponnese (EUNICE Alliance)
- Dr. Nikoleta Partakelidou, Head of Administration, Promotion and Communication, EPICUR Alliance, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
- Dr. Ntia Evagorou, University Officer, Communication, Promotion & Internationalization Service, Cyprus University of Technology
The panel addressed key opportunities, challenges, and strategic directions of European University Alliances, fostering rich dialogue on the evolving role of such initiatives in shaping the European Higher Education Area.
The presence of INVEST and its active engagement in the discussions underscored its commitment to innovation, inclusion, and sustainability in higher education through transnational collaboration.
